Executive election 2007

There were 147 valid ballots. 4 ballots were invalid: 1 was double, and two others without ballot numbers.

The results were as follows:

Shalini Randeria: 96
Manuela Da Cunha: 91
Michal Buchowski: 89
Gísli Pálsson: 87
Benoît de L’Estoile: 72
Dieter Haller: 66
William Kavanagh: 63

The top five will form the new Committee which will preside over the Association until 2009 and be responsible for the preparation of the next conference in Ljubjana in 2008.

These elections had extremely low participation. Given that participation in past elections was around 25 to 30% of the full-members, the Executive Committee considers it opportune and important for the Association that this year’s dramatic numbers be discussed in the light of improving the electoral system.
