Networks: Biosocial Becomings network (BIOSOC)
The newly formed Biosocial Becomings Network (EASA) has as its aim to resituate our understanding of life within a philosophy of becomings rather than being. Such a philosophy of biosocial becomings claims no division between the biological and the social, rather, both are ways of describing the same process, that of life itself.
The first meeting of this group took place during the 11th EASA conference held in Maynooth in August 2010. Due to the success of the day-long workshop and meetings held during the conference we are very excited about opening this network to the interests of anthropologists and non-anthropologists who, like us, want to move beyond disciplinary boundaries towards a study of biosocial becomings.
We would like to ask those interested in the Biosocial Becomings network to subscribe to our mailinglist.
