Networks: Medical Anthropology Network

Special Interest Groups

Mobilizing European Medical Anthropology.

An initiative by the EASA medical anthropology network teaching officer Elisabeth Hsu.

Applicants are invited to help pave the way for a durable medical anthropological exchange in Europe. Mobile Medical Anthropology provides students and teaching staff with an entire course linked to another European center. This offers an opportunity, for post-docs and senior teaching staff, to move in our network and get their ideas known through lecturing at a University of their choice. As a teaching exchange and research project, Mobile Medical Anthropology aims to result in a book: Current issues in Medical Anthropology. Read more here (PDF).

The 12 invited authors will be guest lecturers, who displace themselves to another Euro-university for 2-3 months, deliver 8-16 lectures (depending on the system of teaching into which they will be integrated) at dates of their convenience in the academic years 2011-13, starting on 1 Oct 2011 and ending on 30 Sept 2013.

To participate, EASA-members can apply by completing and submitting this form not later than March 1, 2011: www.medical-anthropology.nl/actuality/mma-applicationform.doc - to be addressed to elisabeth.hsu(AT)anthro.ox.ac.uk.

Medical Anthropology Young Scholars

This interest group is a subsection of the Medical Anthropology Network. Our aim is to provide space to matters that concern European students and postdocs of Medical Anthropology. Our website is www.mays-easa.org. We circulate information on a Google Group. MAYS should be a place of communication, exchange, tools for research and studies, and a discussion board among others. You can get in touch with the Student and Young Scholars Representatives, Susann Huschke (Free University Berlin, Germany) and Claire Beaudevin (Paris Descartes University, France): mays.easa(AT)gmail.com
