16th EASA Biennial Conference
New anthropological horizons in and beyond Europe
20-24 July 2020 in Lisbon
ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon and ICS-Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon
Early Bird registration is now open.
All attending the conference must register online in advance. This does not necessitate paying at that time; registrations are manually checked and an invoice emailed to delegates including payment instructions - you then have fifteen days to pay. Payment can be taken online by credit card using Stripe, PayPal, or by a bank transfer.
All convenors and presenters must be members of EASA (during 2020), and have paid their subscription before the conference. Signing up for the membership and paying the membership fee is a separate process from conference registration.
N.B. If you are a former member of EASA but your membership has lapsed, please log in to Cocoa to request a membership renewal. Please do not make another application for membership!
Registration for the virtual conference includes access to all keynotes, panels, film programme, laboratories, the coffee/networking space, network meetings and the book exhibit. There may yet be a conference party (with music) on the final night.
Holding EASA 2020 online conference allows us to reduce the registration fees very significantly. However we still need to cover our planning and administration costs. Preparation began two years ago and is an essential part of every conference. We also need to train and support convenors and presenters in the use of the software before and during the event, as well as pay for the software licence. As has long been EASA practice, the fees of those on higher incomes subsidise attendance of the many attendees who are students or on low incomes.
The Early Bird conference registration fees are:
Concession member (students, low-waged, unemployed): €30
Delegates with low income from Low income countries: €15
Rates will rise by €35 on 29 June when the early-bird period ends.
Through a generous award from the Wenner-Gren Foundation, more than matched by EASA money, funds are available to support delegate attendance. The Call for Funding is now closed.
Registrations cancelled (notifying us by email) more than three weeks before the conference will be refunded, less a small amount to cover administrative and finance costs. Cancellations made within three weeks of the event will br ineligible for such a refund, due to costs already incurred. Refunds at that point will be discretionary.
Any queries with the above please email conference(at)easaonline.org.
