AnthroMob News: Bibliography, publications and a reminder to become a co-convenor!

Dear AnthroMob members,

we would like to draw your attention to a Bibliography of Mobility we would like to launch with you. We have created a Google Spreadsheet to collect and share mobility-related literature (by AnthroMob members and beyond) as a growing online bibliography that shall be useful to all of us.

Please take a moment to fill in your publications and others you find relevant in the following link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19f0aO0vYej-WIqgIY5HVPsnMRmTUSXxD3RrYY92UVFw/edit?usp=sharing

Please make sure to follow the format and list your publications alphabetically by your last name.

In the meatime, we’d like to share with you some new publications in Berghahn's EASA book series „Worlds in motion“: Worlds in Motion Book Series https://www.berghahnbooks.com/series/worlds-in-motion This transdisciplinary series features empirically grounded studies that disentangle how people, objects and ideas move across the planet. With a special focus on advancing theory as well as methodology, the series considers movement as both an object and a method of study. Advisory Board Vered Amit, Concordia University, Montreal Nina Glick Schiller, University of Manchester Sarah Green, University of Helsinki Ulf Hannerz, Stockholm University Tim Ingold, University of Aberdeen Volumes Vol. 1: Salazar, Noel B., and Kiran Jayaram, eds. 2016. Also, we would like to remind you of the call for co-convenors (1) and proposals for our workshop in 2019 (2)! More info on either:

1- As convenors of the network, we encourage you to think of proposing your candidature to become a co-convenor of AnthroMob. Holding such a position is both rewarding and full of potential. Quite flexible and adaptable in scope and content, the task of being an AnthroMob convenor includes, in its broadest understanding, the coordination of AnthroMob-related events and activities, be it online and offline.

2- Among AnthroMob events and activities, perhaps the most significant to date is the convening of its biannual Workshop, which takes place in alternate years from EASA conferences (the next one will be in 2019). To have an idea of what a Workshop can be like, you can look at the previous one we convened in Cologne, which was jointly organized with the Media Anthropology Network of EASA. We encourage you to start thinking whether you would be interested in making suggestions for our next Workshop, in terms of where, when, and on which topic it could be.

We thus call on expressions of interests regarding both convenorship (1) and/or workshop organization (2).

The deadline for sending your candidature and/or workshop proposal is July the 31st (or earlier if possible). This will help us plan in advance and make due arrangements in view of our forthcoming meeting in Stockholm in August.

You are of course all welcome to contact us before to ask for more details about what these tasks may involve and the possibilities they offer, as well as to exchange further on your ideas and proposals.

Best wishes The AnthroMob Covenors
