Dear All,
You will recall that we agreed to host an Inter-Commission conference = with Urban Studies and Children, Youth and Childhood, if my application for = money from the NRF came through. Well, it did!!! I applied for R200 000.00 but only received R120 000. 00. This is good enough to cover basics such as = the keynote speakers from each Commission, use of facilities, local = transport and other SA student participation in our conference. The rest of the = money will be raised from conference fees.=20
I received this news on Friday afternoon but got held up with several personal issues. One of them was an ailing cousin, who passed away yesterday!! So my apologies for not getting to you earlier.=20
Your contribution to this conference will be to attract as many = participants as we possibly can. But above all, I hope you all can attend as well. = Durban as you know is a very beautiful city, so I would like to have all of you here.=20
Kindly circulate the attachment as widely as you can, beginning from = today please.
