CfP EASA 2020: Visual Methods and Anthropology of Aging

Dear All,

I am writing to invite you to consider submitting a paper to our panel entitled Illuminating Futures of the Life Course through Visual and Digital Media that I will be co-convening, together with other colleagues from the Age and Generations Network [AGENET], at EASA 2020 in Lisbon. The panel will explore how ageing and life course can be addressed with visual/digital methods, especially, but not exclusively, in the context of dementia, disability or stigma [cfp here: https://nomadit.co.uk/conference/easa2020/p/8821#].

My co-convenors and I are working in the areas of anthropology of aging and the life course, dementia research and anthropology of senility. Most of us have limited knowledge of Visual Anthropology, and our hope for this panel is to bridge the gap between our subfields and the visual research. We would also hope that the panel would create the opportunity for both visual anthropologists and life course anthropologists to identify areas of productive exchange.

Should you require further details, please dont hesitate to contact us.

Please also feel free to forward this call for papers to anybody to whom it may be of interest.

Best,

Barbara
