Apologies for cross-posting
The interactive and multimedia exhibition Dis/locating Cultures of Equality , is free and open to the public until October 22, 2021, at Goldsmiths University of London
The exhibition, hosted by the Goldsmiths Anthropology Department and the GlobalGRACE project , features research-based art from Bangladesh, Brazil, Mexico, the Philippines, South Africa and the UK. Its installations explore how creative practices can help build and sustain cultures of gender equality, mixing interactive displays with soundscapes accessed via the free Echoes app from visitors’ mobile phones.
The exhibition challenges the norms of 'anthropological' displays and white cube framings of art, inviting visitor interaction and critical reflection on 'dis/locating' culture. Placed outdoors, the installations are ‘covid-secure’ and will be reshaped over time by the local environment.
Location: College Green, Goldsmiths campus, New Cross, London SE14 6NW Open to the public during daylight hours until October 22. Fully wheelchair accessible.
