Academia for Equality’s concern about the neighbourhood of Isawiya

Dear Professor Cohen and Professor Medina

The Executive Committee of the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA) has been made aware of the deep concerns expressed by the organization Academia for Equality about the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s reported involvement in actions taken in relation to the neighborhood of Isawiya, particularly in light of a recent intensification of clashes between police and residents of the neighbourhood.

We hope that the University authorities would be willing to engage in open discussions with members of Academia for Equality about these concerns.

Yours sincerely
Sarah Green
President, EASA
On behalf of EASA’s Executive Committee
