Pre-announcement#1: Research grant on Rethinking Europeanisation through tourism mobilities / Univ. of Padova
Hello everyone,
The following 24-month early career research grant will soon be announced a=
t the University of Padova, under the supervision of Prof. Chiara Rabbiosi.
The grant is embedded in a 2-year research project entitled Travelling Euro=
pe(s) Rethinking Europeanisation through tourism mobilities performances, f=
unded by the Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancie=
nt World (DiSSGeA) at the University of Padov=
a. The research project is developed under the auspices of the Centre for A=
dvanced Studies in Mobility & Humanities
The application process will become available roughly at the end of Septemb=
er 2022 and will stay open three weeks and the grant holder is expected to =
start working no later than the end of December 2022.
The research project deals with the enactment of geographical imaginaries o=
f Europe and the EU in the context of tourism, with a specific focus on how=
Europe is imagined, encountered, and enacted as a =91tourist Other=92 by n=
on-European tourists. The project aims to develop research at the crossroad=
s of cultural geography and political geography, and invites interdisciplin=
ary perspectives mingling Tourism Studies, Everyday Geopolitics and Europea=
n Studies.
