International Anthropological Film Festival Jerusalem, Israel November 2023

Dear Friends

The 12th International Anthropological Film Festival of Creative Documentary, organized by the Jerusalem Cinematheque-Israel Film Archive and the Dept. of Sociology and Anthropology, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, are pleased to announce the opening of the call for films for the 2023 edition

It is open to documentary films produced 2022-2023.

Registration is open until May 30th.

The International Anthropological Film Festival will be hold from

the 21st to the 23rd of November 2023 in Jerusalem - Israel.

The festival selects films that document and explore human societies and cultures in their many facets, such as, social, and cultural diversity, continuity and change, relationship with the environment and to promote dialogue between cultures. We welcome submissions of documentary films made by anthropologists, students, and professional filmmakers.

Eligibility requirements are:

  • Films produces in 2022-2023

  • Full length films (at least 45 min. long)

  • Online screeners only (preferably Vimeo links) valid at least three months. To be sent to:

  • All submissions must have English subtitles.

  • Works previously refused by the Anthropological Film Festival- Jerusalem cannot be resubmitted.

All the members of the selection committee are looking forward to discovering your films.
